Steel Sections

The standard steel section utility creates insertion blocks representing the steel section onto the current drawing sheet. It supports a large range of section types, including American, European and selected Japanese sections.

This utility greatly reduce the time taken to draw a steel section from minutes to seconds.

This utility allows the creation of representations of a large number of standard steel sections of differing types and sizes without reference to data sheets.

Functionality:

The restricted version of this utility ....

Section outline drawn on the current UCS at a specified point and angle and on the "0" layer.
Section details selected via dialogue box.
Dialogue box settings retained by system.
Point and angle of section outline must be chosen (picked) from drawing.
Only one section inserted at a time.
Universal beams and universal columns supported in restricted version.

Greater range of supported sections including column, joists, equal and unequal angle and long and short stalk t-bars, assymetric beams and hollow sections amongst others, see supported sections.
"Smart" editing of section outline enabled. Pick and drop to change section depth and width.
Point and angle may be set within dialog box.
Multiple instances of same section permitted.
Support for LIST commands to give section details.
Allows the user to specify the layer upon which the section outline is inserted.
Modular programming structure allows ready addition of further section outlines.
